Valley of Fire is the indie scene of Las Vegas area parks. It costs a little more get in and is known to fewer people than the mainstream Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area. But when you return from a visit not only have you had a great time but you get to brag about how you were going to “the VF” before it was popular. |

You could fight the crowds on the Las Vegas Strip and drop a couple hundred bucks in a spa in any number of fabulous resorts. Unless you’re a member of the Nevada Outdoor News tribe, of course.
Folks in the tribe are constitutionally incapable of prying open a wallet and handing over that kind of dough to someone who isn’t wielding a deadly weapon. And thanks to places like Ash Springs, we get to indulge ourselves in spa-style relaxation for the cost of half a tank of gas. |
