We hit the historic railroad trail at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Boulder City for an upcoming story in Rails to Trails magazine.

It was about 95 degrees or so when we were out on the trail, hot, but not unbearable.

These tunnels on the trail certainly help.

Check out the rest of the pix, including some of bighorn sheep we saw, after the jump.

Sadly, for Elko, Cat Rock is just an abbreviation for Cathedral Rock on Mount Charleston.

No chases on this trip.

But that doesn't make this hike any less fun.
